Perth, the ancient capital of Scotland, has a long and rich history, murder, mayhem, skullduggery, a king held hostage, Kings of Scotland crowned there, you name it Perth has the Tea-Shirt,,John Knox gave his famous sermon in Perth which sparked of the Reformation proper,scottish media give a lot of credence, and try to make out that Mary Queen of Scots was some person who was the saviour of Scotland , but in fact she was hated by most Scots, in turn she hated Knox, reason being that he knew what she was and what she intended to do," bring Scotland back to popery.

Scone is the reputed birthplace of Pontius Pilate, Perth at the time was a roman settlement and was called "Bertha
2006 marked the 700th anniversary of the crowning of Robert the Bruce at Scone Palace. A few events were planned in Perth that year and a re-enactment of the Coronation washeld on 2nd Sat May at the Palace . Jack McConnel refused to let the Stone of Destiny be taken from Edinburgh to its rightful place which is Scone
Perth is also famous for its contribution to the Scotch Whisky industry, any time you see a bottle of "Grouse", Bell's, or Dewars whisky read the label,"Made In Perth.
The City is also famous for its Bull Sales, buyers from all around the globe have been here, Gary Cooper, John Wayne, Alan Ladd, modern celebs as well , but too numerous to mention.
Perth Theatre is also been a landmark for budding artists, a few famous faces have had their acting debut here, Donald Sutherland, Maureen Lipman, are just a couple that come to mind

The year 2010 will mark the 8ooth year of Perth becoming a Royal Burgh. The city fathers are planning big things, but so are we, as we hope to hold the main County of the East of Scotland on Saturday 26th June, these plans are now in the early stages of organising, just waiting for the meetings with council, police , etc etc.
